Nairobi, Kenya
Objective: To bring AI4COVID research team members, who participated in the GAL process,
together and in person to:
● Facilitate internal reflection and consolidate shared learning around (a) how teams have
integrated gender equality and inclusion (GEI) into AI-driven health research, including
obstacles, barriers and ways-forward; and (b) intended and unintended outcomes from
these efforts to integrate GEI considerations into their research;
● Connect experiences and lessons from the AI4COVID program with the broader
community by participating in a writing workshop that guides the translation of internal
team and cross-program learnings into personal, reflective public-facing narratives/blogs;
● Overall, advance knowledge around the key question: What does it take to have gender-
responsive AI-driven health research, and why does it matter?
